Dr. Tonia helps leaders and teams to think and communicate on a global level. Her experiences living in Japan, Italy, South Africa, and across the country allows her to bring valuable cultural experiences when discussing business communication. Her warm approach and educational background help clients to share their stories with confidence. Dr. Tonia has worked with clients such as FDOT, Disney, Hands on Atlanta,Junior League, Centers for Disease Control, Department of Justice, and many more. Her training and workshops help empower professionals to be more effective communicators and more impactful leaders.

Backstory

Early on Dr. Tonia realized she loved to speak and her effectiveness as a communicator was a key to opening doors and achieving success. Her passion for communication fueled her pursuit of a master’s degree in interpersonal/intercultural communication and a doctorate degree in Public Communication. She has trained college students in communication for over 20 years and consulted as a communication coach for various companies. 

In 2005, the demand for communication training, beyond academia, prompted her to start a consulting company that empowers professionals to attain new heights by improving verbal communication skills. Today she is the founder of Phanor Consulting. Dr. Tonia works with individuals who are leaders in business, media, and entertainment to improve their communication skills. She also helps them to brand their authentic voice as a leader.

In 2007, Dr. Tonia hosted the “Expressively Speaking Radio Show” on WATB 1420AM. In 2008, Dr. Tonia began television taping as one of the host for the “Women of Destiny” show which aired on AIBTV network. The “Women of Destiny” show empowered women in every area of their lives. She is also a published author of two books, with a third on the way.
